5.1. Methodological overview

The teaching methodology is developed through lectures, seminars, practical exercises, self-assessment and visits to industrial facilities.

5.2. Learning tasks

The course consists of 10 ECTS credits distributed as follows:

  • Type 1. Lectures (1.6 ECTS): 40 hours. 16% workload.                            
  • Type 2. Problems and Cases (1.8 ECTS): 45 hours. 18% workload.                    
  • Type 4. Field practices (visits) (0.6 ECTS): 15 hours. 6% workload.                      
  • Type 6. Guided assignment (0.8 ECTS): 20 hours. 8% workload.      
  • Type 7. Student autonomous work (5.0 ECTS): 125 hours. 50% workload.       
  • Type 8. Test (0.2 ECTS): 5 hours. 2% workload.     

5.3. Syllabus

The program that the student is offered to help you achieve the expected results includes the following activities:

  • Conferences.Presentation of the course contents through lectures illustrated with examples.
  • Self-assessment exercises and learning. In each of the topics, the teachers prepare a series of questions, specific and short development or with a test-format. Thier aim is for students to internalize the basic contents of the course.
  • Case studies. Case studies to practice solving the problems posed by the management of risks related to safety at work, from detection risk through its evaluation to end in the elimination or control risk.
  • Seminars. Several seminars that deal with some specific monographically proposed issues.
  • Visits to industrial facilities. They try to give a real picture of the risks and preventive measures implemented in a working environment.
